The R6 Supreme AIS/VDES is coming!

The SAAB R6 Supreme AIS/VDES System is a new product that will replace R5 Supreme for SOLAS and other commercial vessels. It is the first fully compliant Class-A AIS unit that is prepared for the future upgrades of AIS, named VHF Data Exchange System (VDES) and expected to be included in the carriage requirements according to IMO SOLAS Chapter V from January 2027 (the VDES version, currently under development, will be at a higher price).
